Human Resources Co-Coordinator
Project: EqualHealth is a Boston-based non-governmental organization that strives to inspire, empower, and support the development of leaders among Haiti’s next generation of health professionals. In order to devote as much of our resources as possible to our colleagues and programs in Haiti, our team is made up largely of volunteers who come from a wide variety of backgrounds and locations. In addition to volunteers who apply and are accepted to our structured internship programs, we have many talented individuals who want to volunteer in our organization but there is not a clear role that is best for them.
We are therefore looking to bring on a Human Resources Co-Coordinator. This person will be responsible for keeping track of the volunteers after they have started their internship. Specifically, they will:
- keep track when the mid-internship surveys are due, collect them, and upload them to the individual volunteers’ files on the EqualHealth GoogleDrive
- keep track of when volunteers reach their one year of service, and at that time ask them if they want to renew or end their internship and update the other Human Resources Co-Coordinator
Applicant: The ideal applicant will be fluent in English, with some skills in either French or Haitian Creole. The applicant will have excellent organizational and communication skills, will be able to work independently, will have timely and complete follow through on tasks and will share EqualHealth’s passion for global health and social justice. For communication purposes, the applicant will be based out of Boston, or able to commute for meetings.
Supervisor: EqualHealth Executive Committee
Internship Logistics: The internship will start upon acceptance, and will continue for a minimum of one year with extension available. The time commitment will be approximately 5 hours per week. Most work will be done independently, with periodic meetings with EqualHealth staff and with interested applicants.
This is not a paid internship. However, EqualHealth is committed to helping individuals attain their academic goals, and to that end we are willing to work with those currently enrolled in college or graduate programs to meet requirements for practicum or other commitments in terms of supervision, documentation and time requirements.
How to apply: Please send (1) a copy of your CV and (2) a cover letter to firstname.lastname@example.org. In your CV please address all language skills and level of fluency (oral, reading and writing). In your cover letter, please address your interest in our organization, as well as your ability to meet our time commitment.
