French Translation Internship

French Translation internship

Project: EqualHealth strives to ensure that our resources are accessible for continuing medical education. To accomplish this,  we collaborate with a team of translation interns, working in French and English. The French Translation Intern will translate documents pertaining to EqualHealth's work  from English to French, and/or proofread documents translated by other interns. Translation interns will be expected to work on teams for more complex or formal documents to ensure accuracy. The content of the material will vary, and will include technical medical documents.

Applicant: The ideal applicant will be fluent in oral and written English and French, with some level of medical background preferred. The applicant will be reliable, have daily access to email, be excellent with electronic communication, be able to work with team members located in a variety of locations through email, phone, text and other electronic means and will be able to work independently.

Supervisor: Safira Amazan, Translation Coordinator

Internship Logistics: The internship will last for a period of one year, with the opportunity to extend. The time commitment will be approximately 5 hours a week, and will vary based on the projects available. The intern will be given a very flexible schedule, with much work being done independently to translate documents, presentation and handouts. This is not a paid internship.

EqualHealth is committed to helping individuals attain their academic goals, and to that end we are willing to work with those currently enrolled in college or graduate programs to meet requirements for practicum or other commitments in terms of supervision, documentation and time requirements.

How to apply: Please send (1) a copy of your CV and (2) a cover letter to cfox@equalhealth.org. In your CV please address all language skills and level of fluency (oral, reading and writing). In your cover letter, please address your interest in our organization, as well as your ability to meet our time commitment.
