Job and Internship Opportunities
We are seeking registered nurses, certified nurse midwives, nursing educators, clinical nurse specialists and nurse practitioners who are interested in helping create nursing protocols, and nursing curriculum. We are also looking for Haitian practitioners or those fluent in French or Creole to create educational lectures for a video project. Topics for education will be based on our partners’ needs in Haiti. Volunteers for this project should have an interest in medical education and/or global health. Global health experience (especially in Haiti) is welcome, but are not required.
Email Jill Caporiccio, RN, Curriculum Committee Head of Nursing Education for more information.
Visiting Professor Program
Our partner organizations in Haiti have asked for visiting professionals of a wide variety of specialties to travel to Haiti and provide educational sessions in Haiti at medical schools, hospitals and universities. Therefore, we are asking health care professionals who are willing to work in solidarity with their colleagues in Haiti to register with EqualHealth in order to match your professional interests with the academic needs as defined by our partners.

EqualHealth has partnered with the Association of Program Directors in Internal Medicine (APDIM) to provide our Haitian colleagues critical support towards developing their abilities as residency program directors and medical educators. We were proud to kick off this partnership by co-sponsoring three of our Haitian colleagues to attend the 2014 APDIM Spring Conference in Nashville, Tennessee. These three physicians, all of whom play important roles in resident teaching and supervision at their home institutions, will share lessons learned from the conference in organized teaching sessions upon their return.
In addition to opportunities at the annual APDIM conference, EqualHealth and APDIM are working together to build a mentorship program connecting medical educators in Haiti with program directors in the US, thus fostering collaborative problem-solving and bi-directional exchange. Our first group of mentors and mentees have been selected, and were able to meet at the APDIM Spring Conference. We are looking forward to expanding this partnership to extend such services to even more of our Haitian colleagues, providing them with the support and resources they need to be effective residency program directors. We offer a heartfelt thanks to APDIM for their generous support in this critical area.
